Play Roulette Game Casino Roulette is a popular and classic casino game that is easy to play and has an enthusiastic following in online gaming. Players bet on numbers, spreads of number combinations and colors, generated by the fall of a small ivory ball onto a spinning wheel which is divided into 37 or 38 numbered slots, depending on the version being played. Very little strategy is required as the game is completely random and based entirely on luck. Some European casinos have only a “0”. Split Bet - The chip is placed on the line separating two adjacent numbers. Pays 17:1. There are two standard styles of roulette tables found in American casinos. One is the standard table, which has one betting layout with the roulette wheel at one end; the other, called the double-end table, has two layouts with the wheel in the center between them. The dealer spins the wheel in a counterclockwise direction then flips the ball on the bowl's back track so that it travels clockwise. Bets placed on the layout after this announcement are not valid and must be returned to the player(s) The numbers on the American roulette wheel are 1 to 36, 0, and 00. A dealer (known as a croupier) spins the wheel in one direction and then rolls a small ball in the other direction. That aside, French roulette is very similar to American roulette. The numbers on the roulette wheel alternate pairs of odd numbers with pairs of even numbers. For most bets it's fairly obvious - you can't miss theRed diamond for Red bets, and things like Even, 1-18, and 1st 12 are written outin plain English. When the ball is gettingready to drop, the dealer will wave his hand over the table, which means "Nomore bets". Don't reach for your winnings until the dealerremoves the marker, or the dealer will scold you. That way iftwo players bet on the same number (or set of numbers), then the dealer knowswho to pay, and arguments can't arise over who bet what. Sometimes the dealerwill ask you "Inside or Outside? " when you're buying chips, to findout whether you're making inside bets (the ones listed in purple in the table,on specific numbers) or outside bets (the ones listed in yellow, on kinds ofnumbers) If you're asked Inside or Outside, always answer "Both",even if you only intend to bet one or the other. That way, you're not locked inand you always have the ability to change your mind. Remember thatyou can bet inside or outside if you like; there's no requirement to bet both ona given spin. It's important tounderstand that the outcome of the roulette wheel is truly random. If Black hascome up for the last 10 spins in a row, the next spin is not more likely to beRed. There's an old saying,"The wheel has no memory. There have been 152 spins (coincidentally,4 x 38), and so we expect that each number should have come up 4 times onaverage. You can certainly switch toanother number if you want, but that won't improve or worsen your chances. Thechances of #27 coming up on a given spin are the same, whether it just come upon the last spin or not - 1 in 38. Atlantic City has a special rule whichreduces the house edge to 2.7% on even money bets (Red/Black, Odd/Even,1-18/19-36): If 0 or 00 comes up on on even money bet, you lose only half yourbet. Ifyou win the second spin, your bet is "released from prison" and youget it back. A stack of twenty 25-cent chips is valued at $5.00, and a stack of twenty 50-cent chips is worth $10. The dealer will specify the worth of that particular coloured chip by mating a sample chip which is placed upon the rim of the wheel. They may not be removed from the table when the player leaves. The betting layout starts with numbers 0 and 00 at the top, then extends from numbers 1 through 36 at the far end of the table. This area is referred to as the "inside" betting area. As mentioned. The perfectly balanced roulette wheel consists of 38 identical slots, individually numbered from 0, 00, 1 through 36. As the wheel turns, the ball loses momentum. Incidentally, there are about 90 spins or games played per hour, on average. You will notice on our illustration of the standard roulette wheel that the numbers are not consecutively arranged around the wheel. By design, they alternate between red and black and exactly opposite each other number is the corresponding higher and lower number.
