Roulette is a popular and classic casino game that is easy to play and has an enthusiastic following in online gaming. Very little strategy is required as the game is completely random and based entirely on luck. The chip is placed on the outside line of the two rowscovered. Pays 5:1. To keep it simple, we'll call him the "dealer" and his assistant the "croupier". A dealer (known as a croupier) spins the wheel in one direction and then rolls a small ball in the other direction. The numbers alternate between black and red. Both the 0 and 00 slots are green in color. Here are thedifferent bets you can make. You don't have to make just one kind of bet foreach spin, you can make several, and you win if the ball lands on any of yournumbers. The house edge is the same whether youmake one bet per spin or several. In other games the color of the chipdenotes the denomination, but in Roulette the color denotes only which playerthe chip belongs to. Roulette chips can in fact be any denomination - $1, $5,$25, etc. Minimum bets work differently for inside and outside bets. It most other games a bet usually wins only even money, butRoulette gives you the chance to win 35 times your bet (a winning bet placed ona single number) In this way, Roulette is more like slots - one single bet canwin a lot. Black and Red still have equal chances of hitting. There's an old saying,"The wheel has no memory. On an American wheel,there are 38 spots - numbers 1-36, plus 0 and 00. On even money bets when 0 comes up, instead of losing rightaway, your bet is "imprisoned" and rides again for the next spin. Ifyou win the second spin, your bet is "released from prison" and youget it back. You don't get paid for the win, though, but it's better than losingit outright. One to six players are seated at the roulette table. A stack of twenty 25-cent chips is valued at $5.00, and a stack of twenty 50-cent chips is worth $10. In roulette betting, a player may request whatever value he wishes for his chips, above the 25 cent or 50 cent standard amount. It is important to note that these roulette chips must be cashed in at the table. Actually, you can pick up a total of 36 chips which includes your original bet. You will get 2-to-1 odds if you select the winning number within the first, second or third dozen numbers. The perfectly balanced roulette wheel consists of 38 identical slots, individually numbered from 0, 00, 1 through 36. As the wheel turns, the ball loses momentum. It bounces among the slots and finally falls into one of the numbered slots. Incidentally, there are about 90 spins or games played per hour, on average. You will notice on our illustration of the standard roulette wheel that the numbers are not consecutively arranged around the wheel. All red numbers are opposite the black numbers.
