Play Online Roulette
Roulette is a popular and classic casino game that is easy to play and has an enthusiastic following in online gaming. Players bet on numbers, spreads of number combinations and colors, generated by the fall of a small ivory ball onto a spinning wheel which is divided into 37 or 38 numbered slots, depending on the version being played. Very little strategy is required as the game is completely random and based entirely on luck. A bet placed on the ball landing on red or black, high or low numbers, odds or even numbers. The French roulette wheel has 36 numbers, and only the single zero, unlike the American roulette wheel which has the numbers 1 to 36 but with two zeros (0 and 00) Roulette is the game where you guess where the little marble is going to dropon the spinning wheel. Roulette would be a great game were it not for the highhouse edge - usually 5.26%, sometimes as low as 2.63%, which is still higherthan blackjack, craps, or baccarat. You don't have to make just one kind of bet foreach spin, you can make several, and you win if the ball lands on any of yournumbers. The house edge is the same whether youmake one bet per spin or several. When the ball falls into a slot, the dealer will announce thenumber and the color, and place a marker on the layout where the winning numberis. Sometimes the dealerwill ask you "Inside or Outside? That's because if you're betting only inside and someone else isbetting only outside, he can give you both the same color chips and there won'tbe any confusion. There's no advantage tolimiting yourself to inside or outside. In other games the color of the chipdenotes the denomination, but in Roulette the color denotes only which playerthe chip belongs to. It most other games a bet usually wins only even money, butRoulette gives you the chance to win 35 times your bet (a winning bet placed ona single number) " That means it doesn't know what it spunbefore, and even if it did, the wheel can't select what number comes up out ofits own volition. Here's another example: Since there are 38 slots on the wheel,we expect any given number to hit 1 out of 38 spins on average. You can certainly switch toanother number if you want, but that won't improve or worsen your chances. The differencebetween the true odds and what they actually pay you is 2/38, or 5.26%. If you play Roulette, the most important thing is to find a casino thatoffers the European wheel (which is called "Single 0" Roulette) European games have an option called en prison which reduces the house edgeto 1.35%, but it's generally not available in the U.S., even in casinos that usethe European wheel. You don't get paid for the win, though, but it's better than losingit outright. A stack of twenty 25-cent chips is valued at $5.00, and a stack of twenty 50-cent chips is worth $10. The dealer will specify the worth of that particular coloured chip by mating a sample chip which is placed upon the rim of the wheel. It is important to note that these roulette chips must be cashed in at the table. The betting layout starts with numbers 0 and 00 at the top, then extends from numbers 1 through 36 at the far end of the table. The "outside" betting area consists of odd or even bets which pay even money. You will get 2-to-1 odds if you select the winning number within the first, second or third dozen numbers. Naturally, you can let it ride again on the next roll or even add other chips from your winnings. As the wheel turns, the ball loses momentum. That number is the declared winner for that game. Incidentally, there are about 90 spins or games played per hour, on average. By design, they alternate between red and black and exactly opposite each other number is the corresponding higher and lower number. All red numbers are opposite the black numbers.
