Straight Up Bet - A chip is placed on one of the numbers. Pays 35:1. Corner Bet – A bet placed on the crossed lines in the middle of four numbers. Pays 8:1. Six Number Bet - Covers two rows of three numbers each. All even moneyodds. Pays 1:1. Dozens Bet - The numbers between 1 and 36 are divided into three dozens. A roulette table with a single layout is usually worked by two "croupiers". The dealer spins the wheel in a counterclockwise direction then flips the ball on the bowl's back track so that it travels clockwise. Bets placed on the layout after this announcement are not valid and must be returned to the player(s) The numbers alternate pairs of odd numbers with pairs of even numbers. There's no advantage tolimiting yourself to inside or outside. Remember thatyou can bet inside or outside if you like; there's no requirement to bet both ona given spin. It's important tounderstand that the outcome of the roulette wheel is truly random. Black and Red still have equal chances of hitting. There have been 152 spins (coincidentally,4 x 38), and so we expect that each number should have come up 4 times onaverage. The wheel has no memory. In effect, this variation has the ability to turn a loss into a tie. Players purchase special roulette chips, each player with his own color, so that the dealer can tell who made a winning bet and pay off that player. The dealer will specify the worth of that particular coloured chip by mating a sample chip which is placed upon the rim of the wheel. Players may bet larger amounts by using $1, $5 and $25 regular. Inside bets consist of the following: single-number bets, including the 0, 00 and 1 through 36, are made by placing your chip in the centre of the number you select. The "outside" betting area consists of odd or even bets which pay even money. Red or black pays even odds. A bet on 1 to 18, or 19 to 36, pays even money. The dealer knows you are the winner by the color of your chips. Naturally, you can let it ride again on the next roll or even add other chips from your winnings. That number is the declared winner for that game. Run a ruler or any straight edge across the diagram and you will see that the O is opposite the 00, 1 is opposite the 2, and so on up to the 35 being directly opposite the 36. All red numbers are opposite the black numbers.
