American roulette wheels usually have both the “0” and “00” on the wheel. Five Number Bet - This bet covers only the numbers 0, 00, 1, 2 and 3. Pays 6:1 if any one of the numbers comes up. Six Number Bet - Covers two rows of three numbers each. The chip is placed on the outside line of the two rowscovered. Pays 5:1. 1-12, 13-24 and25-36. Pays 2:1. Run a ruler or any straight edge across the diagram and you will see that the O is opposite the 00, 1 is opposite the 2, and so on up to the 35 being directly opposite the 36. The house edge is set at 5.26%, resulting from the player receiving odds of 35 to 1 rather than the true odds of 1 in 36 or 37 to 1. The single-0 European roulette wheel has a house edge of only 2.70%.
