Players bet on numbers, spreads of number combinations and colors, generated by the fall of a small ivory ball onto a spinning wheel which is divided into 37 or 38 numbered slots, depending on the version being played. By the skillful placing of bets on the table, a player can vary the amount of risk he is taking. Corner Bet – A bet placed on the crossed lines in the middle of four numbers. Pays 8:1.
