By the skillful placing of bets on the table, a player can vary the amount of risk he is taking. Some European casinos have only a “0”. Here's ahandy way to remember the payouts when you're betting on a set of numbers: Take36 divided by the quantity of numbers you're betting on, and subtract 1. " That means it doesn't know what it spunbefore, and even if it did, the wheel can't select what number comes up out ofits own volition. On an American wheel,there are 38 spots - numbers 1-36, plus 0 and 00. The differencebetween the true odds and what they actually pay you is 2/38, or 5.26%. On even money bets when 0 comes up, instead of losing rightaway, your bet is "imprisoned" and rides again for the next spin. In effect, this variation has the ability to turn a loss into a tie. The perfectly balanced roulette wheel consists of 38 identical slots, individually numbered from 0, 00, 1 through 36. In total, 38 numbers are represented on the betting layout. Each game begins when the dealer (sometimes called croupier) spins the wheel in one direction, and then rolls a little ivory ball along the inner edge of the wheel in the opposite direction. It bounces among the slots and finally falls into one of the numbered slots. That number is the declared winner for that game. Incidentally, there are about 90 spins or games played per hour, on average. All red numbers are opposite the black numbers.
