Roulette is a popular and classic casino game that is easy to play and has an enthusiastic following in online gaming. Some European casinos have only a “0”. There are two standard styles of roulette tables found in American casinos. The croupier who spins the wheel and deals the game is called the "wheel roller" by casino employees. The players begin by making their bets, placing chips on the spaces of the layout in the manner permitted by the applicable rules for the area/state/country etc. The dealer spins the wheel in a counterclockwise direction then flips the ball on the bowl's back track so that it travels clockwise. Players may continue placing bets while wheel and ball are still in motion until the dealer yells (says) "No More Bets! ". Roulette is the game where you guess where the little marble is going to dropon the spinning wheel. When the ball falls into a slot, the dealer will announce thenumber and the color, and place a marker on the layout where the winning numberis. Each player's chips are a different color. Sometimes the dealerwill ask you "Inside or Outside? That's because if you're betting only inside and someone else isbetting only outside, he can give you both the same color chips and there won'tbe any confusion. In other games the color of the chipdenotes the denomination, but in Roulette the color denotes only which playerthe chip belongs to. Roulette chips can in fact be any denomination - $1, $5,$25, etc. When you buy in, tell the dealer what denomination you want. For outside bets, any bet you make has to be the table minimum. In this way, Roulette is more like slots - one single bet canwin a lot. " That means it doesn't know what it spunbefore, and even if it did, the wheel can't select what number comes up out ofits own volition. Now let's sayyou've been playing Roulette for a few hours, betting on Red every time, andyou've been keeping track of what numbers have hit. On an American wheel,there are 38 spots - numbers 1-36, plus 0 and 00. if you win, thecasino doesn't pay you 37 to 1, they pay you less - 35 to 1. European games have an option called en prison which reduces the house edgeto 1.35%, but it's generally not available in the U.S., even in casinos that usethe European wheel. Ifyou win the second spin, your bet is "released from prison" and youget it back. In effect, this variation has the ability to turn a loss into a tie. It is up to you to pick up both your winnings and your original bet after the payoff. The dealer knows you are the winner by the color of your chips. Naturally, you can let it ride again on the next roll or even add other chips from your winnings. Each game begins when the dealer (sometimes called croupier) spins the wheel in one direction, and then rolls a little ivory ball along the inner edge of the wheel in the opposite direction. Run a ruler or any straight edge across the diagram and you will see that the O is opposite the 00, 1 is opposite the 2, and so on up to the 35 being directly opposite the 36. All red numbers are opposite the black numbers.
