American Roulette Game
By the skillful placing of bets on the table, a player can vary the amount of risk he is taking. Some European casinos have only a “0”. Split Bet - The chip is placed on the line separating two adjacent numbers. Pays 17:1. Street Bet - A bet that covers a row of three numbers on the table. Pays 11:1. Dozens Bet - The numbers between 1 and 36 are divided into three dozens. Roulette is said by some to have been started or invented way back in 1655 by the French scientist Blaise Pascal, during his monastic retreat, and first played in a makeshift casino in Paris. A double-end table with two layouts is operated by either three or four croupiers. The players begin by making their bets, placing chips on the spaces of the layout in the manner permitted by the applicable rules for the area/state/country etc. The dealer spins the wheel in a counterclockwise direction then flips the ball on the bowl's back track so that it travels clockwise. American Roulette is played using a wheel that consists of thirty-eight slots, each with its own number. The numbers on the American roulette wheel are 1 to 36, 0, and 00. A dealer (known as a croupier) spins the wheel in one direction and then rolls a small ball in the other direction. Both the 0 and 00 slots are green in color. We've added blue circled letters to the diagram to point outhow to make the not-so-obvious bets (the sets of 2-6 numbers) you will likely lose money faster the morebets you make, because you're betting more. When the ball is gettingready to drop, the dealer will wave his hand over the table, which means "Nomore bets". Each player's chips are a different color. That way iftwo players bet on the same number (or set of numbers), then the dealer knowswho to pay, and arguments can't arise over who bet what. Sometimes the dealerwill ask you "Inside or Outside? If you're asked Inside or Outside, always answer "Both",even if you only intend to bet one or the other. There's no advantage tolimiting yourself to inside or outside. Roulette chips can in fact be any denomination - $1, $5,$25, etc. Remember thatyou can bet inside or outside if you like; there's no requirement to bet both ona given spin. Black and Red still have equal chances of hitting. You can certainly switch toanother number if you want, but that won't improve or worsen your chances. Thechances of #27 coming up on a given spin are the same, whether it just come upon the last spin or not - 1 in 38. On an American wheel, there are 38 spots - numbers 1-36, plus 0 and 00. The Europeanwheel has a lower house edge (2.63%) because it has only 37 slots instead of 38(no 00) Ifyou win the second spin, your bet is "released from prison" and youget it back. In effect, this variation has the ability to turn a loss into a tie. One to six players are seated at the roulette table. Players purchase special roulette chips, each player with his own color, so that the dealer can tell who made a winning bet and pay off that player. The betting layout starts with numbers 0 and 00 at the top, then extends from numbers 1 through 36 at the far end of the table. Actually, you can pick up a total of 36 chips which includes your original bet. Additional combinations in this "inside" betting area are: one chip on a six number bet (pays 5 to 1); one chip on any four connecting numbers (pays 8 to 1); one chip on any connecting group of three numbers (11-1); one chip place between two connecting numbers (17-to-1) The same 2 to 1 odds are given for selecting any of the numbers in the three vertical columns of 12 numbers, located on one end of the betting surface For outside bets, the dealer will lay your winning chips alongside your original bet. As mentioned. Again, your original bet is left on the number or combination of numbers and it is up to you to reclaim that bet. The perfectly balanced roulette wheel consists of 38 identical slots, individually numbered from 0, 00, 1 through 36. Each game begins when the dealer (sometimes called croupier) spins the wheel in one direction, and then rolls a little ivory ball along the inner edge of the wheel in the opposite direction. Run a ruler or any straight edge across the diagram and you will see that the O is opposite the 00, 1 is opposite the 2, and so on up to the 35 being directly opposite the 36. The single-0 European roulette wheel has a house edge of only 2.70%.
