Straight Up Bet - A chip is placed on one of the numbers. Pays 35:1. Corner Bet – A bet placed on the crossed lines in the middle of four numbers. Pays 8:1. A bet placed on the ball landing on red or black, high or low numbers, odds or even numbers. All even moneyodds. Pays 1:1. 1-12, 13-24 and25-36. Pays 2:1. Roulette is said by some to have been started or invented way back in 1655 by the French scientist Blaise Pascal, during his monastic retreat, and first played in a makeshift casino in Paris.
